<p>Just because it "looks nice" or many people use it, does not give you the right to violate the privacy of those who have decided to not use gravatar.</p>
<p>This id not about using a "open and popular alternative" but about leaking private information. Overall imho OSM does a pretty good job at protecting the private information of its users, but there are a few places that still need improvements to be able to protect all its users private information.</p>
