<p>Not offhand, but there have been many, both on the mailing lists and probably in bug tickets. The main attempt at solving the problem is probably <a href="http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Owl">http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Owl</a> which has at various times existed in various forms, but it has never quite reached the point of offering a stable service we can use to back the main site.</p>
