<p>This works for me with Firefox ESR:</p>
<ol>
<li>Log on to openstreetmap.org</li>
<li>Hamburger Menu -> History -> Clear recent history (Ctrl + Shift + Delete). Delete the last hour, tick everything except cookies.</li>
<li>Open <a href="http://www.openstreetmap.org" rel="nofollow">http://www.openstreetmap.org</a>. Important: without httpS, with www, otherwise you have to do step 2 again.</li>
<li>Carry on mapping happily</li>
</ol>
