<p>The article is from 2012. Google, Facebook, Microsoft and probably other major software companies have adopted this standard.<br>
OAuth 1, which is currently used, is worse in terms of security and I'm not aware of a standard that replaced OAuth 2.<br>
I would say that at the very least, support both until a new standard replaces them both...</p>
