<p><a class="user-mention" data-hovercard-user-id="5060210" data-octo-click="hovercard-link-click" data-octo-dimensions="link_type:self" href="https://github.com/RobJN">@RobJN</a> plus codes are calculated from the coordinates, it doesn't make any sense in any conceivable way to store them in the DB and it is just as silly as storing the coordinates as tags on the objects would be  (which has been known to happen).</p>
<p>The other issue is that they use Latin script letters which is a non-starter for anything intended for global use.</p>
