<p>As a logged on user, you can always see both sides of the conversion. Ideally you can ask some "intelligent" questions, which the original anonymous user can relate to (if they happen to revisit the note, exactly as it is today), but that don't make much sense to some other anonymous user. I don't know how well this works in reality, it's just a proposal.</p>
<p>Still you would need additional moderation options like hiding comments, etc. Banning anonymous comments seems like the ultimate step, and I'm getting the impression from the discussion here that there's no clear consensus here. I may be wrong here, though.</p>
