Other Github sites related OSM have them though. So I'm sure it could be done here also if you really wanted there be one. It doesn't really a code of conduct for someone to not chide others about their personal motivations anyway. Its just basic decency. Which shouldn't be discarded or ignored by admins just because there's no code of conduct yet.

I'm aware of nominatim. Would their Github page be a better place to request something like this since its related to that? The whole "we'd like consensus, but can't get it. So we can't implement something. Unless there's consensus, which we can't get" seems like a weird negative feedback loop that would just lead to nothing getting implemented.

I've been contributing to OpenStreetMap-Carto for like a year and half now and I haven't seen it happen once. So that's clearly a straw man. Also, I didn't ignore your statement about how its easy to setup OLC on something else, I just don't think its a valid reason to not implement it here. Anything can be easily implemented anywhere. It doesn't mean squat. Further, I didn't brand you as anything. I branded your behavior as ""judgemental and unproductive." they are different things. Sounds like your attempting to make the fluffy cotton balls argument that you just chided me for.

Finally, OSM might not be a "primarily" an end-user facing web site, but there are still end-users that use it. Along with mappers etc that use it for finding things. A certain audience doesn't have to be 100% of the sites users for there to be value in adding something they would benefit from. Especially if its only a simple 10 minute thing to setup as imply. Plus, if it happens to bring in a few more casual people that become mappers, that's only a good thing.
