<p>It seems to me that in case that diary entry was hidden by moderator comments are very unlikely to be worth preserving.</p>
<p>Only one use that I see here is that despite the situation some user made valuable and long comment worth publishing separately, and current situation allows rescuing it.</p>
<p>But it is far more likely that comments will be some sort of flame war or short comments explaining why something is a bad idea or advising to behave civilly or something else not worth preserving after diary entry was hidden.</p>
