<p>I think this topic could probably be handled via OAuth 2.0 and an introspection endpoint that Overpass needs to call when an (unknown/not cached) token is presented.</p>
<p>Doorkeeper 2.0 also comes with such an endpoint, I.e. we might not need additional coding here.</p>
