<p>I think you guys are over complicating it design wise. Setting up <a href="https://w3c.github.io/push-api/" rel="nofollow">Push API</a> and <a href="https://notifications.spec.whatwg.org/#api" rel="nofollow">Notification API</a> is the route we should go. For an overview you can read the following guide: <a href="https://developers.google.com/web/ilt/pwa/introduction-to-push-notifications" rel="nofollow">Introduction to Push Notifications | Web | Google Developers</a></p>
