<p dir="auto">Are you talking to me about my concerns about the multibyte stuff? My worry is that the routines as I understand things leave a lot open to interpretation and may be sensitive to the environment so what happens on godbolt may not match what happens in production.</p>
<p dir="auto">I mean probably it works fine given the setlocale I've just always steered clear of them myself.</p>
<p dir="auto">If it works as intended then it's counting codepoints though (which is good) not UTF16 values.</p>
