<p dir="auto">I didn't question whether it had been requested, just whether it had a use case that was in scope for the site.</p>
<p dir="auto">I'm sure lots of people want to show a map with a route overlaid but that kind of end-user thing is not in scope which is why I asked about how it helped with mapping.</p>
<p dir="auto">One thing I can see happening if we do this is people deliberating converting all sorts of routes which aren't actually captured traces to GPX and uploading them just so they can link to a map with the route overlaid.</p>
