<p dir="auto">There was the <a href="https://github.com/openstreetmap/openstreetmap-website/pull/5325#issuecomment-2477533827" data-hovercard-type="pull_request" data-hovercard-url="/openstreetmap/openstreetmap-website/pull/5325/hovercard">suggestion to put the configuration into the preferences</a>, and I kind of like it. Maybe a dropdown that allows you to choose how you'd like it to be. (There should be a map on the preference page then to preview the setting.)</p>
