Hi!

I wanted to add in «Obstacle» page, the keys obstacle=bridge and obstacle=lock that are in use, but not documented. There are values that refers to obstacles in waterways.

I have a doubt... I think that obstacle=bridge is a value consistent with the obstacle definition: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Proposed_features/Obstacle#Differences_with_other_keys
But I'm not really sure with the key obstacle=lock , because I think that could be better use barrier=lock or man_made=lock (I'm not a marine, and I don't have a exact idea about what is exactly a lock or a lock gate). The question is that this key=value is used more than 400 nodes and ways (http://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/keys/obstacle#values), I must add this value on the page? (Although I don't think is really an obstacle?)

Another question: Someone knows what refers the key obstacle=line?

Thanks!

ALBERT

2012/10/29 Martin Koppenhoefer <dieterdreist@gmail.com>

it is clear: it will be tagged on the way it refers to. If two ways
have a node in common, you shouldn't tag the obstacle applying only to
one way on this crossing node but be more precise. If you tagged the
node in common it would apply to both ways.

+1, that's how it would be done. Basically there is no particular
problem with this tag here, it is just the same as other barrier-tags
or maxheight for instance.
