JOSM supports exit_to. JOSM doesn't support destination. <div><br></div><div>Following the text by Martin I updated <a href="http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:highway%3Dmotorway_junction#Destinations">http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:highway%3Dmotorway_junction#Destinations</a>. I indeed think it's a good idear to be clear in the communication of any (to be) deprecated tag.</div>
<div><br></div><div>Most exit_to's seem to be used in the US. I checked upon a motorway_junction in the US (New York) where I noticed that the name=* of the motorway_junction had been replaced by exit_to=* with the same value. The US does not seem to use the name=* on the motorway_junction. Two questions on that:</div>
<div><br></div><div>1. does the tag exit_to=* on a motorway_junction in your opinion have the same meaning as the tag name=* on that motorway_junction?</div><div>2. if your answer to the first question is no, than what is the difference?</div>

I created a short wiki article about exit_to:<br>
<a href="http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:exit_to" target="_blank">http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:exit_to</a><br>
<br>
I did NOT add examples or a detailed tagging instruction for obvious reasons.<br>
<br>
I added a link to this discussion and also put an excerpt of it on the<br>
talk page. I did not take all comments completely but instead tried to<br>
take the most important statements. If you think I quoted you<br>
incorrectly/incompletely please excuse me and update the page.<br>
<br>
I think that someone mentioned somewhere that exit_to is used in some<br>
template in some editor (yes, I don't remember it perfectly) - maybe<br>
potlatch? Can someone verify this? If we want to deprecate exit_to we<br>
should remove it from that template.<br>
<br>
regards,<br>
