I summarize the answers below.<br>
An example for using RENDER is this:<br>
<b><br>
landuse=recreation_ground</b> a sort of holiday/family event
site inside which you have<br>
a quite visible <b>leisure=pitch sport=tennis</b><br>
and two perfectly invisible polygon features (official tags or
so), hence to which we add RENDER:<br>
<b>leisure=miniature_golf</b> render=coral<br>
<b>landuse=boat_storage sport=kayak</b> render=darkblue<br>
</blockquote>
<br>
Adding your desired colour won't get it rendered. If renderers want
items to appear they write code for it.<br>
<br>
The Smarties sweets picture best describes the outcome of your
proposal.<br>

That should give you a clue that your proposal is not a very good
one.<br>

without proposing the slightest alternative,</blockquote>
That's because it doesn't require one. The desired colour for each
entity is in the hands of the renderer, not the mapper. If you want
different colours or other items to display you have to set up your
own render.<br>

I'm sorry, but you appear to a person desperately looking for a
problem just to provide a solution. <br>
