<p dir="ltr">If a way has step_count=5, and a parallel way has step_count=3, then the vanishing is happening on the upper way. If the second way has step_count=3 and start_step_offset=2, then the lowest steps are vanishing. If it has start_step_offset=1, then one step from both sides vanishes.</p>
<p dir="ltr">I'm not sure how steps vanish if you have the same number of them.</p>
