<div dir="ltr">I don't think mapping a shooting range in the way we map a river (which is how I'm envisioning your suggestion) is a good idea.<div><br></div><div>I would much rather:</div><div>1. Come up with tagging for the firing line, which is the part of the range where the shooters shoot from</div><div>2. Tag the danger area beyond the range (places where you must not go due to the hazard of stray gunfire) with boundary=hazard+hazard=shooting_range</div><div><br></div><div>Perhaps there might even be tagging for the area of the range in which the targets go, particularly if there is a permanent emplacement.</div><div><br></div><div>Note that the hazard tagging in #2 above is currently being voted on. Is there a way of indicating the shooting direction? (Some paper maps <br>
show this with an arrow.) The least bad way I can think of is having a <br>
separate way, in the appropriate direction, inside the polygon, but even <br>
that seems cluttered.<br>
