This kind of shop (shop=gift) is very common everywhere, but the
kind of products sold there can be anything, from fabricated
objects made in China to local handicraft and all kinds of
souvenirs.<br>
If we want to distinguish a souvenir/gift shop from a real
handicraft shop (where people buy stuff not just as souvenirs, but
as works of art), then we need to take advantage of
shop=handicraft and document it in the wiki, stating that it's a
shop that sells mainly handcrafted pieces.<br>
