<div>Wiki pages on swimming ("<a href="https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:leisure%3Dswimming_pool">leisure=swimming_pool</a>", "<a href="https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:sport%3Dswimming">sport=swimming</a>", "<a href="https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Swimming_and_bathing">Swimming and bathing</a>") don't mention this feature.</div>

<div>I believe it would be a useful tag to indicate the capacity of the pool (2...10 lanes for an SCM pool makes a difference), or to help to choose pools for events. (8 lanes for a competition, 10 lanes for World Championship or Olympics, etc.).</div>

<div>So. Should one use the existing "lanes" (and add it to the Wiki page), or "swimming_lanes" (as one suggests on the Wiki talk page, though not in use) or "swimming_pool:lanes" or what?</div>
