<p>i understand you but the tag 'network:type' is not new but
established. So far it has been used on <a moz-do-not-send="true"
href="https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/keys/network:type#values">105,305
relations</a>.<br>

The alternative would be to introduce a completely new key. I
would be fine, but I suspect that will not find a majority.</p>
