<p>embassy=embassy <br>

it doesn't seem to have been to ever been documented and as a
result there's nothing really to deprecate to start with.<br>

<p>Simply make a pull request on

<p>And yes using taginfo values can lead to these kind of issues,

<div>Hi Simon, thanks for your reply.<br>
</div>
<div>That's right, for now, the depreciation have
mostly been included into tag proposals. Most of
them are implicit, but some are definitely
explicit eg. <a href="https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/w/index.php?oldid=1551112#Discouraged_tags" target="_blank">office=goverment</a>
; <a href="https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Proposed_features/Water_details#Deprecation" target="_blank">water=*</a>
; <a href="https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Proposed_features/hazard#Features.2FPages_affected" target="_blank">hazard=*</a>.<br>
</div>
<div>Therefore I don't see anything stopping us to
vote an explicit depreciation.</div>
<div>As the proposal process is to "vote on a
standard way to tag map features", it should also
be used to vote on a standard way NOT to tag
features.<br>
</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Also, if we want to properly deprecate some
useless tags, I believe that we should agree over
its deprecation first.</div>
<div>For the users of the data (renders, editors,
routers and more), it's a clear sign to stop using
the deprecated tag.</div>
<div>For the community, it's a green light for a
smooth transition of tag.</div>
