I drafted a
new proposal regarding forests. Contrary to the last
iteration, it is not about forestry: the proposed tagging
scheme is only about delimited forests and their compartments,
wether the stand is subject to forestry or not. This
forest/wood (or managed/unmanaged) issue is too complex to be
solved as a side-effect of another proposal, and should be
treated apart; besides, the limits of forests and compartments
may be maintained without forestry works taking place on the
stand.

It appears to me that this separation into smaller parts is also
occurring in other OSM features;

universities - faculties/departments/*

hospitals - wards/units/*

In the future it may well occur in offices, factories,
warehouses... Of course I may have missed this already occurring
elsewhere.

It would be good to have a common method of dividing the present
OSM key, what ever they maybe, into smaller bits. The values of
the smaller bits could be free text.. at least at this stage.
