<p>I strongly disagree. First of all a general thing: I challenge you to define the term "consensus" in OSM terms and believe me, I wish we could.</p>

<p>Second and more specifically: Data consistency is very important for a lot of people although I agree not all of them are so interested in this specific tag as Sören is. So, no, even if only he brings it up, it is a hot topic, at least for me.</p>

<p>Again, as long as we don't have a way to effectively channel consensus we need to put up with the situation of debating things over and over again. As long as we have a fuzzy community and we strictly stick to "Any Tag you like" it must also imply "Any debate you like" (except if it goes against etiquette, which clearly wasn't the case here).</p>
