General mapping & tagging points:<br>
<ul>
<li>Platforms should not be attached to the railway track.</li>
<li>Highways should not touch (and end) at the railway track. They
should be attached to the edge of the platform.</li>
<li>Platforms can be either ways or closed polygons, but as the
latter is more detailed, it's preferable.</li>
<li>Platforms mapped as closed polygons should have an area=yes
tag to indicate to renderers the polygon should be infilled. The
reason it infills without the tag is a bug in OSM-Carto, &
will, hopefully one day, be fixed.</li>
<li>highway=footway ways across platforms is unnecessary as the
raison d'etre for platforms is for people to walk on them. Same
argument for adding highway=footway tags to the actual platform.</li>
<li>The name of the station isn't the name of the platform.
Platforms rarely, if at all, have genuine names. IMO the name
tag shouldn't be added to platforms. Ref should be used instead.
I find it disappointing the 'standard' map, OSM-Carto, still
renders the name instead of ref.</li>
<li>The station node railway=tram_stop should be between the
tracks & as near to the mid point of the platforms as
possible, without clashing with other rendered objects. </li>
</ul>

do anything wrong, I want to clarify a few things.</div>

<div>Should platforms be mapped as an area or just a way?</div>
