<div>According to the Wiki tourism=chalet can be used for any kind of holiday house, i.e. a chalet-style wooden house in the mountains, a rented pool villa in the city or a rented house on the beach. The Wiki further states that 'Not to be confused with the French term [W] "chalet" for privately owned mountain cabins, for them it is better to use building=cabin or building=house instead'.<br/>

The Wiki's definitions are debatable when I look at established dictionaries.</div>

<div>The term 'chalet' is too specific and confusing. I am from Asia and for me a chalet is a wooden house usually in the mountains and nothing else. Even the official chalet icon has a mountain triangle attached to it. At least that's what I think it is.<br/>

I propose to replace tourism=chalet with tourism=house (in line with tourism=apartment) with a general house icon.</div>
