<p>I have updated the Names page to reflect situations where transliteration should be avoided (in line with the previous version of the page) and situations where language scripts such as Punjabi apply. I've tried to reflect the previous consensus while allowing for those edge cases.</p>

<br />The wiki talk page of the "Names" page is not the place where the OSM community decides how to use names though, that's why I believe that a discussion - at least - here is warranted.<br /><br />Had you clearly expressed that you intended to only document customs in Punjabi-speaking regions, I would probably not have reverted the edit but you have claimed to document a world-wide standard an I think you misrepresented that.<br /><br />Bye<br />Frederik</div>
