<br><span dir="ltr" style="margin-top:0; margin-bottom:0;">everything that has "*wall*" in the value of "barrier" is shown with way and area in the wiki, I see absolutely no reason why a garden_wall shouldn't be allowed on a way and only on areas.</span>

<br><span dir="ltr" style="margin-top:0; margin-bottom:0;">My _guess_ is, that garden_wall was added later to the garden:type page when all the other described uses are 99% areas.</span>

<br><span dir="ltr" style="margin-top:0; margin-bottom:0;">I'd say that the uses could be extended to ways without any negative impact to anyone.</span>

Turns out that yes we do (Of course! :-)): leisure=garden + garden:type=green_wall, used 22 times, but also another 38 "facade_garden", which may be the same thing?
