Given the use of the key contact: I would prefer contact:postal

<div>I'm not sure about the best answer though, as it doesn't
seem to be an issue that has come up before on the wiki or on
<a href="http://help.openstreetmap.org" moz-do-not-send="true">http://help.openstreetmap.org</a>.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>I would suggest you have two options:</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>1) Ask on <a href="http://help.openstreetmap.org"
moz-do-not-send="true">http://help.openstreetmap.org</a>,
and see if you get anything useful. It would be a great
question to ask, as I'm sure other people come across similar
circumstances, and getting an answer somewhere public would be
good.</div>
<div>2) Make up a tag so that the information is in the
database, and if someone comes up with a better tagging
scheme, they can change it later.</div>
<div>3) Do both.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>For (2), I reckon contact:postal='PO Box 2323, Blahtown'
would make sense in the context of the other contact:* tags.
According to <a
href="https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/keys/contact%3Apostal"
moz-do-not-send="true">https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/keys/contact%3Apostal</a>,
it's been used at least 175 times before, although maybe not
quite in that way.</div>

In addition to the tags like contact:phone contact:email
addr:housenumber addr:street, etc almost all businesses in
Australia that have a physical presence on the ground also
have PO Box number as part of their address and use that for
their business correspondence.<br>
Is contact:pobox=* the correct way to tag their PO Box number?<br>
