<div dir="ltr"><div>Hi Ian, thanks for summarising the mailing list discussion. Much appreciated.</div><div><br></div><div>Can I tweak your Australian tagging guideline to the following:</div><div><br></div><div>
New sub-heading: Speed cameras<br>Fixed
speed cameras (including those that measure speed at a specific point
and those that measure average vehicle speed between two points) can be
tagged in one of two ways: (1) by using the tag highway=speed_camera,
with or without additional tags (such as maxspeed=*) as described here [<a href="https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:highway%3Dspeed_camera" target="_blank">https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:highway%3Dspeed_camera</a>], and/or (2) by using the tag relation:enforcement with additional tags, as described here [<a href="https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Relation:enforcement" target="_blank">https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Relation:enforcement</a>].<br>
</div><div>
<div>New sub-heading: Heavy vehicle compliance cameras</div><div>Fixed cameras which monitor heavy vehicle driver fatigue and other heavy vehicle enforcement can be mapped using (1) highway:hgv=fatigue_management_camera or (2) enforcement:hgv=fatigue_management_camera,
or perhaps both. These are often known as "Safe-T-Cams" in [<a href="https://www.rms.nsw.gov.au/roads/safety-rules/speeding-camera-enforcement/index.html|NSW">https://www.rms.nsw.gov.au/roads/safety-rules/speeding-camera-enforcement/index.html|NSW</a>] and [<a href="https://www.sa.gov.au/topics/driving-and-transport/heavy-vehicles/driving-heavy-vehicles-safely|SA">https://www.sa.gov.au/topics/driving-and-transport/heavy-vehicles/driving-heavy-vehicles-safely|SA</a>]. a heavy vehicle compliance camera (if such camera exists), both sets of tags can be used on the same node.</div>

<span></span>Hi folks, there was a useful discussion the other week about updating the Australian tagging guideline on Safe-T-Cams. I've tried to integrate all the points that were raised in the following text. I guess the broad intention is to better differentiate between speed cameras and Safe-T-Cam cameras in the guidelines. Thanks for a great discussion. All comments welcome. Cheers Ian<br><br>Existing text: highway=safe_t_cam Use this tag to mark the position of the NSW and SA Safe - T - Cam system<br><b><br></b>Suggested replacement (If approved, I suggest this be moved out of the regional roads section and given it's own sub-heading given its relevance to both urban and regional roads)<br><br>New sub-heading: Speed cameras and "Safe-T-Cam" cameras<br><br>Fixed speed cameras (including those that measure speed at a specific point and those that measure average vehicle speed between two points) can be tagged in one of two ways: (1) by using the tag highway=speed_camera, with or without additional tags (such as maxspeed=*) as described here [<a href="https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:highway%3Dspeed_camera" target="_blank">https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:highway%3Dspeed_camera</a>], and/or (2) by using the tag relation:enforcement with additional tags, as described here [<a href="https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Relation:enforcement" target="_blank">https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Relation:enforcement</a>].<br><br><div>"Safe_T-Cam" cameras in New South Wales and South Australia monitor the movement of heavy vehicles but do not monitor vehicle speed [<a href="https://www.nhvr.gov.au/safety-accreditation-compliance/on-road-compliance-and-enforcement/safe-t-cam" target="_blank">https://www.nhvr.gov.au/safety-accreditation-compliance/on-road-compliance-and-enforcement/safe-t-cam</a>].
