<p>I went for a cycle along SW8 this afternoon, and I now think that
at least that route (and the others if they're similar) should be
kept in OSM. It's not signposted wonderfully, and there are a few
places where following the signs wasn't possible, but there were
definitely quite a lot of signs — including some new ones that
have been put up since recent roadworks in various places.</p>
<p>The state Department of Transport still publish the <a

href="https://www.transport.wa.gov.au/mediaFiles/active-transport/at_CYC_map_PerthFremantle-Stirling.pdf">bike
maps</a> (although I can't find an index to them on their site;
they're discoverable <a moz-do-not-send="true"
href="https://www.transport.wa.gov.au/public/SearchTransport.asp?&q=bike%20map&start=0">with
a search</a> though).<br>
</p>
<p>Here are some examples of the signs (I took a <a
moz-do-not-send="true" href="https://samwilson.id.au/T2006">few
more photos</a> too):<br>

others have said. These routes should stay on the map if they're
signposted on the ground, but other than that I think they're
often not particularly great routes. I must admit that the
cyclemap render now (since the removal of these routes) actually
looks a lot more like my intuitive idea of what cycling looks like
in Perth — i.e. there are some good purpose-made paths along the
freeways, and other than that there's not much. With the official
routes, it always looked like there was this amazing cross-cutting
network of cycleways, and actually that's not really the case.

I am from Perth, and am a cyclist. I agree with aaronsta that
these routes
<br>
are pretty useless. I have often looked at the signage and
wondered about
<br>
OSM & the usefulness of the routes. I might not have gone
to the extent of
<br>
deleting them, but it is probably the right thing to do (they
are
<br>
pretty-much obsolete and I doubt if anyone uses them)
