<p>This might not be of use, but if you're trying to add a
multipolygon for a building with a hole in it then in JOSM it's
really easy:</p>
<ol>
<li>Use the building tool to create multiple rectangles over the
building, including any courtyard.</li>
<li>Select all the building rectangles, with the courtyard one
last (or at least, not first).<br>
</li>
<li>Press shift-J to join them all together. It magically makes
the required relation.</li>
</ol>
