<p dir="ltr">I prefer whodidit, as they have a nice representation of where the edits happened. This is the last link in the area I follow: <a href="http://zverik.osm.rambler.ru/whodidit/index.html?changeset=14491271&show=1">http://zverik.osm.rambler.ru/whodidit/index.html?changeset=14491271&show=1</a></p>

Is there a possibility tho watch a certain area, neighbourhood,

Don't know about e-mails, but a beta has just been released to
display where things have recently changed:
<a href="http://owl.apis.dev.openstreetmap.org/" target="_blank">http://owl.apis.dev.openstreetmap.org/</a> (click the history tab),
and there's a link to a rss feed as well.<br>

Quite interesting.<br>
The script to produce the changeset log in one's area and send
oneself an e-mail must be super simple.<br>
I find it a better approach than a general web or e-mail service
because it makes it possible to add filters such as "not by myself"
or "changing my edits" and anything factual that would be cumbersome
to suggest.<br>
The simplest script it is the more likely everyone will be able to
customize his own.<br>
I find perl querying simple and a list of commented out filters to
customize could be built.<br>
<br>
I'd be interested in the XAPI and mostly overpass API to issue
(plain URL).<br>
I've had problems finding how to have overpass URLs work.<br>
<br>
