That is accounts in plural. I would need one for UrbIS,
one for De Lijn, one for CRAB, one for Toerisme
Vlaanderen, one for cycle node routes, one for walking
node routes, It goes without saying that when I happen to
wander into The Netherlands or France, I'll need many more
accounts, of course. Then when I decide to help out in New

If I understand well (I'm a bit far from those problems), OSM wants
you to use different accounts for those tasks, right?
And the reason is tracing the updates, right?
So, why do they not alias UrbiS_Jo, De_Lijn_Jo etc to your single
uid?
Both the name and uid are in nodes, ways, relations and changesets.
It's recommended to use the uid for personal statistics.
And indeed when I changed my name my previous personal data and
statistics remained.
But that doesn't prevent OSM or anyone to make data trace/statistics
on Urbis_Jo or even Urbis*.
At first sight, the only difference between my name change and this
is that the "old" name Jo isn't removed.
Of course, I don't claim to know every implication, but it seems to
only affect the uid->name function.
And whoever will use it will find Jo as he does now. Any problem?

Isn't it something to suggest to please everybody?

Cheers,
