<div dir="ltr">My preferred way of working: on the way when the amenity occupies the complete building, or the majority of it. So for churches, hospitals, supermarkets that's the way I do it.<br>For small shops, which typically occupy only 1 floor I use a node. Only drawback is that nominatim does not recognise the address of the surrounding area/building, so I duplicate the address. Not too bad, as the address is sometimes slightly different.<div>

<br></div><div>Other people may map in another way. I've seen both methods described on the help web site and on different fora.</div><div><br></div><div>You can do whatever you like, but please do not tag the building with e.g. amenity=place_of_worship and place a node inside it with the same tags, just because your editor shows a nice icon on the node.</div>
