<div>Recently I made 2 very simple maps with <a

around Belgian specialities: frites and beer.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>The first map [1] shows all fritures in Belgium, at least
those that are mapped as amenity=fast_food + cuisine=friture</div>
<div>There is a good amount of them already in OSM.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>The second one [2] shows all breweries in Belgium. I map
all the craft=brewery, building=brewery and man_made=works +
product=beer.</div>
<div>Nevertheless the number is disappointing. Maybe you could
remap a brewery near you or let me know which tagging scheme
you have used ?</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Craft=brewery is used for small (home) breweries, the
man_made for industrial breweries.</div>

Hi Marc,<br>
<br>
Nice idea. The map might be put on some tourism agencies sites and
promote OSM.<br>
<a
href="http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/WikiProject_United_Kingdom_Breweries">Please
note this project</a>.<br>
<br>
Well, why not also map where we can drink beer as a specialty?<br>
<a href="http://www.openstreetmap.org/node/1559490392">In this pub</a>,
and <a href="http://vaudree-concept.be/vaudree-angleur/">all
Vaudrée pubs</a>, they sell several hundreds kinds of beers !!!<br>
I'm sure I had investigated special tags to use for those kinds of
"pubs" and I really wonder why I don't see any that I put on this
one. Did they vanish?<br>
<br>
I have added some breweries, but there's a problem.<br>
We cannot have building=monastery and building=brewery at the
same time, can we?<br>
I and a least one other person have explained several times on the
wiki that the correct tagging is<br>
building=yes (main, physical object tag, others are attributes)<br>
monastery=yes<br>
hotel=yes (if there's no better tag for their lodging activity)<br>
shop=yes<br>
shop:beer=yes<br>
shop:cheese=yes<br>
etc.<br>
That is very clear and obvious instead of a fuzzy mess where we have
historical=castle but no castles that are not historical instead of<br>
building=yes<br>
castle=yes<br>
historical=yes/no/<year><br>
hotel=yes if the castle is fitted as a hotel <br>
winery=yes if the castle is a "château Lafitte"<br>
<br>
So, what I did is adding brewery=yes to buildings that existed,
without any reshuffling.<br>
I did not tag for the renderer ;-)<br>
Jupiler, Hoegarden, Stella Artois I think, Orval and maybe more to
come.<br>
It's a pity that the (or some) names of the beers are not tagged.<br>
What about the natural<br>
brewery:brand=Name1:Name2...<br>
<br>
Please note French=English:<br>
frire = fry (verb)<br>
frites = chips or fries (fr chips = en crisps)<br>
friture = fried food (not the shop) anything that's fried, the
oil/fat or the action of frying<br>
friterie = chip shop (where they are sold, nl frituur I believe)<br>
The English don't really have traditional shops centered on chips
with side dishes as sausages, rollmop etc. a lot<br>
but a tradition is "fish and chip shop" (cod or haddock) which I
liked very much,<br>
they have modern fast food however but that's not chips centered.<br>
friture is not an English word, so, cuisine=friture is in principle
incorrect (ça ne me dérange pas qu'ils utilisent le français, mais à
condition de ne pas cuisiner le magasin <span class="moz-smiley-s3"><span>
;-) </span></span>).<br>

teleurstellend. Misschien kunnen jullie de brouwerijen in de
