Bonjour, <br>
<br>
J'ai ajouté une analyse spécifique aux zones multilingues dans
Osmose. Elle n'est pour l'instant active que sur le Maroc et pour
la région de Bruxelles. <br>
<br>
Pour Bruxelles l'analyse s'attend à retrouver les tags name,
name:fr et name:nl avec "[name]" = "[name:fr] - [name:nl]" ou
"[name]" = "[name:fr] - [name:nl]". Elle détecte des manques et
des incohérences et propose des corrections. <br>
<br>
Si vous relevé des problèmes produit par cette analyses n'hésitez
pas à me les remonter. <br>

Hi, <br>
<br>
I added a specific analysis on multilingual areas on Osmose QA. It
is currently only active on Morocco and for the Brussels region. <br>
<br>
Brussels analysis attempts to retrieve the tags name, name:fr and
name:nl with "[name]" = "[name:fr] - [name:nl]" or "[name]" =
"[name:fr] - [name:nl]". It detects missing and inconsistencies
and show possible corrections. <br>
<br>
If you see any problems with this analyzes do not hesitate to let
me know. <br>

On the map: <br>

<br>
<br>
And the errors list: <br>

Hi,<br>
<br>
Did you think of the following issue?<br>
After we added :fr and :nl names, people having configured their
browser with fr and/or nl as their primary or secondary browser
preference will no longer see the bilingual default in applications
like Nominatim (OSM search).<br>
This is akin to my surprise when s.o. spoke of some query and my
query didn't seem to return his result.<br>
That was only because it returned that result in Walloon which is of
course in my secondary preferences.<br>
(When I can see the reply in Chinese or Walloon, I prefer Walloon<span
class="moz-smiley-s3"></span>)<br>
This is probably delightful for a monolingual Frenchman, but is it
for a bilingual or multilingual Belgian?<br>
:ll is certainly useful when the primary name is not understandable
by someone speaking ll, but is it when the primary name does contain
the name in ll?<br>
<br>
!!! highway=slippery !!! <span class="moz-smiley-s3"><span> ;-) </span></span><br>
Moreover, the Belgian law obliges to display names of the bilingual
regions in both languages.<br>
And the issue becomes: is OSM legal?<br>
(no/half kidding, there have been big Belgian issues for much less
than that).<br>
<br>
I think it would be a good move for Osmose to pursue their goals to
request support for the browser configuration of a dummy languages
called something like "default" and "OSM-default". The applications
recognizing it would display the default name.<br>
<br>
Or would someone find a better idea?<br>
<br>
Cheers <br>
