Hi all,

Open Knowledge Belgium aims at being an umbrella organisation. That
means that we are doing our uttermost best to do things for you and
not restrict you in any way. You can use our (being you and the
other working groups such as Creative Commons Belgium or Open Acces
Belgium) legal entity as if it was your own through the
representatives Ben Abelshausen and now also Nicolas Pettiaux: they
can do financial transactions and sign paperwork as part of the
board of the legal entity.

Feel free to tell everyone that Open Street Map Belgium is an
official organisation and whenever they ask you a registration
number, you give the registration number of Open Knowledge Belgium.
That's why we exist.

Having similar goals, I believe we're stronger under one umbrella
than having strong volunteers having to take care of the
administrative sides of running an asbl/vzw.

@Ben: I find the Local Chapter idea a very good idea. Creative
Commons Belgium did the same thing within Creative Commons
International.

Kind regards,

Pieter
