Yesterday I have given a basic JOSM course to VGC - (Vlaamse
Gemeenschapscommissie) people who never even added a single node. I
managed to not bore them with talks about nodes/ways/relations. So in
case your governmental organisation needs a governmental reference, they
can always refer to Jan Verbelen <jan.verbelen@vgc.be> , he leads the
'Meet & Weet Cell' and is totally into Open/Big Data and OSM. He's our
supporter there. I've CC'ed him on this mail so Jan knows they can
contact him in case they need to peer.

The focus was to be able to add basic stuff, a road , a house and
elaborate on the ways of working of JOSM/OSM. In total we had about 8
people and at least 2 of them were very enthusiastic and were totally on
board.

One woman didn't even want to stop mapping! I had a good feeling about
this approach and it was fun doing it! It sure helps to get people up
to speed, 1 day isn't enough to cover it all but I hope they got a
jumpstart.

I think this is a working formula. I don't think Syntra has the
competence to teach OSM stuff in-house (at this time), so our community
can probably assist there.
