    This is the reply I almost knew. Agreed and clarified by a
    distribution electrician friend.<br>

      ou le poteau supportant le transformateur d'où ils proviennent.
      3N380V ou 3x220V.<br>
      Les 3 fils "moyenne tension" alimentant ces cabines ou ces
      transformateurs se trouvent sur des poteaux plus élevés.   La
      tension de service est inscrite sur le support.<br>
      Enfin, il y a les pylones bien connus et remarquables de transport
      "haute tension" et de tension variée comme souvent 70000V et
      400000V.  Idem, I think.<br>

    In short:<br>
    Low voltage: going to homes, see on the cabin or transformer pole
    where they come from, 3N380V or 3x220V.<br>
    Medium voltage: 3 wires higher above, feeding cabins and
    transformers, see on each pole.<br>
    High voltage: very high pylons, like 70000V et 400000V, see on
    pylons too; don't stride, it may tickle ;-)<br>
