<p>Hey everyone,</p>
<p>For a project (see the other email for details), we will be
adding<i> </i><b><a href="https://www.natuurenbos.be/spelen">Forest
Play Areas</a> (<i>speelzones </i>in Dutch).</b> <br>
</p>
<p>Now the obvious question is... how do we tag those?</p>
<p>First of all, a 'play zone' as defined by ANB (Agenstchap Natuur
en Bos/Agency for nature and forests) is:</p>
<p>- An area in a forest<br>
- which is clearly signposted by<a
href="https://www.natuurenbos.be/sites/default/files/z01_speelzone.png">
this sign</a>;<br>
- Which might or might not contain actual playground equipment.</p>
<p>At the moment, I do not have a good indication of what kind of
tagging would be suited, but I already have some thoughts on what
<i>wouldn't </i>be suited:</p>
<p>- It is an area in a forest, but not necessarily a forest itself.
In other words, I would mark it as a separate area within the
forest and <i>not</i> mark it as `landuse=forest` (unless the
entire forest is the play zone, but that is rather exceptional).
This however rules out the 'landuse'-key<br>
- It is (most of the time) not equipped with playground equipment,
but rather an area where it is allowed to play. This rules out
`leisure=playground` as that one has to be `<a
href="https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:leisure%3Dplayground">an
area specifically designed for children to play</a>` - which it
is not.<br>
If (and only if) playground equipment <i>is</i> installed, I
would be inclined to add an additional `leisure=playground`.<br>
- There already is some <a
href="https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/keys/playground%3Atype">usage</a>
for `playground:type=speelbos` and `playground:type=speelzone`,
but not significant... Only one single instance in Belgium (by
Escada). On one hand, it is somewhat suited, but it makes it hard
to distinguish between a play area with and without playground
equipment. (Of course, it is possible to map the playground
equipment individually, but that is not realistic to do on every
play area out there timely)</p>
<p> So, any ideas on how to tag those? A `boundary=*`? An entirely
new tag?</p>
<p>Kind regards and happy mapping!<br>
