Hi,
Thanks for helping fixing... i've been meaning todo that. Im a mapper and not a wikipedian :-)

Anyway, a new page of shp-to-osm.jar needs to be created. (the script that i use to make canvec2osm). This is different than the shp2osm.py script because the shp-to-osm.jar program just uses windows, and requires simple editing of a RULES.txt file, where as the shp2osm.py and shp2osm.pl script works on ibuntu (i don't know how to use it) and through sorcery and magic, it is able to upload the data directly to the OSM API, and pull data from the API, where this little shp-to-osm.jar script cannot.

And bulk_upload.pl is able to upload it all.
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Bulk_upload.pl

... oh ya, and the reason that i like the shp-to-osm script by Ian better is that it can be set to only create that maxnodes=2000 as thats what the API is happy with, rather than sitting for days trying to upload something.
... BTW, the geobaseNHN script that deals with the water features/rivers will be modified so that it creates a bunch of small .osm files so then users can copy over the data 1 byte at a time. (that Yan Morin is also working on, but created a geobase2osm version of it)

So we need to tell everyone that there is a clear difference. I cc'd Ian so maybe he can help fix it, as we as Steve Singer who modified the shp2osm.py script to make geobase2osm script.

On a side note, i should have called my script canvec-to-osm instead of canvec2osm. Should i change it?
