In my quest to become a total non-Microsoft
product user, the last remaining tie to Windows is my need to
create Mapsets and load them into my Garmin GPSmap 76CSx.
Currently, I am using Mapsource and MapSetToolkit to build mapsets
that are made up of OSM, Ibycus Topo and other maps. I download my
routable maps from http://garmin.na1400.info/routable.php

Could you point me to the Linux tools I need to perform these
functions:

Group a number of .img files into a mapset

Group a number of mapsets (OSM, Ibycus Topo, etc.) together

Create a single gmapsupp.img file to copy over to the Garmin
folder in my MicroSD card

In Widows, I had played with MapEdit and other tools, but I am now
looking for Linux equivalents

Thanks,
