Bring back this subject from the end of July (http://lists.openstreetmap.org/pipermail/talk-ca/2012-July/004948.html), I was just doing some editing in the Niagara Falls area (doing some fixup and correcting the route of {420}), and noticed that JOSM wasn't discarding some tags that might not really be needed anymore.

Earlier, the community decided that the "geobase:uuid" tag could be safely discarded. What about the following tags of "geobase:nid" & "geobase:exitnumber"? I found several of these tags in the Niagara Falls area and I don't think they are adding any info that is needed anymore and could possibly be discarded automatically by JOSM when the uploads happen.
( Example way that has both tags: http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/way/55549095 )

What do you guys think about this?

--James
