Deleting the imported changesets on basically a whim is not improving data quality.<br clear="none"><br clear="none"></div><div class="yiv9319297871gmail_default" style="font-family:verdana, sans-serif;font-size:small;">Yes some of the data could have been better imported, but Canada is big. Forests are larger than JOSM can download.<br clear="none"><br clear="none"></div><div class="yiv9319297871gmail_default" style="font-family:verdana, sans-serif;font-size:small;">The choice in many areas is no data or CANVEC data and I know what I'd prefer. CANVEC comes from a number of sources that were the best available at the time. Some sources are good, some not so good. By deleting everything then you're left with nothing or heaven forbid highways traced from poor quality satellite images that were sometimes 100 metres or more out. For example in Quebec the sources are quite different to Ontario. House number ranges I don’t think were available for Quebec for example.<br clear="none"><br clear="none">Forests and lakes maybe one problem area in a particular province but buildings, power lines and highways are fine.<br clear="none"><br clear="none">The traditional OSM way is for the data to be refined over time. Michael's goal is to force us to improve the quality of our data. He's not a<br clear="none">

Why don't we take a pause to discuss how we can improve the quality of the<br clear="none">
