<p dir="ltr">As was mentioned on the thread I linked to, a UK open address group found that one of their datasets was derived from a Google Maps geolocation service. This meant that the data org couldn't use it, even though the data had a nominal OGL licence. This open data org had government funding and support at a very senior level, yet couldn't get past this hurdle. </p>
<p dir="ltr">So it's not a question of who owns the facilities, but rather if some third party has rights lurking in the data. And this would be something we'd have to ask about. </p>
