<div dir="ltr">Yeah, the small area was also our initial comment regarding the application. But based on our current Local Chapters framework, the OSMF didn't specify a minimum area or size for the area that will be covered by an organization so that in itself would not disqualify Windsor Hackforge's application. Also, we discussed this concern internally within the Board and we agreed that small size is not an issue.<br></div><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">On Mon, May 23, 2022 at 9:03 PM john whelan <<a href="mailto:jwhelan0112@gmail.com">jwhelan0112@gmail.com</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex"><div dir="auto">My thoughts are an Ontario County is a fairly small area for an OSM chapter.<div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">Cheerio John</div></div><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">On Mon, May 23, 2022, 08:13 Eugene Alvin Villar <<a href="mailto:seav80@gmail.com">seav80@gmail.com</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex"><div dir="ltr"><div>Hi everyone!</div><div><br></div><div>I'm Eugene, one of the members of the Board of the OSM
Foundation. I would just like to ask mappers and the local community
from Ontario, especially those based in the City of Windsor and Essex
County. The OSMF received an application from Windsor Hackforge (<a href="https://hackf.org/" rel="noreferrer">https://hackf.org/</a>) to become an OSMF Local Chapter. Please see the application documents here: <a href="https://wiki.osmfoundation.org/wiki/Local_Chapters/Applications/Windsor-Essex_Ontario_Canada" rel="noreferrer">https://wiki.osmfoundation.org/wiki/Local_Chapters/Applications/Windsor-Essex_Ontario_Canada</a><span></span><br></div><div><br></div><div>My
question is, would the local community feel comfortable with Windsor
Hackforge becoming a Local Chapter for the Windsor-Essex area? As stated
in the OSMF website, "Local Chapters are country-level or region-level
not-for-profit legal entities representing the area's OSM mappers and
OSM data when dealing with local government, business, and media." Does
Windsor Hackforge fit the bill?</div><div><br></div><div>Thanks!</div><div><br></div><div>Eugene Alvin Villar</div><div>OSM Foundation Board<br></div></div>
