I have them activated for another purpose (get high quality Strava Global Heatmap as a background in ID when editing trails), but beyond that one use I am familiar with, I have no idea where to look. I am not a site developper. For having played with the issue I can report the following, not
to make that thread drag forever.

computed/rendered on the server, they are rather not
transferred/downloaded by the browser. The tiles simply stop
coming. Only happen when browsing <a href="http://openstreetmap.org/" class="" moz-do-not-send="true">openstreetmap.org</a>. <br class="">
