<div dir="ltr">In case anyone is wondering how to use this source, I did something like this:<div><br></div><div>1. In JOSM go to Imagery -> Imagery Source</div><div>2. Press the "+WMS" button and paste in the WMS link:</div><div><a href="https://geo.statcan.gc.ca/geo_wa/services/2021/Road_Network_File/MapServer/WMSServer?request=GetCapabilities&service=WMS">https://geo.statcan.gc.ca/geo_wa/services/2021/Road_Network_File/MapServer/WMSServer?request=GetCapabilities&service=WMS</a><br></div><div>3. Once that's added, find the GeoBase Roads layer in the list, hit the activate button, and save (JOSM should prompt you to restart)</div><div>4. Go to anywhere in Canada and download data.</div><div>5. I fully agree that in areas that use abbreviation it should be expanded. Now I ask for something that supports that these names are actually abbreviated. <br clear="none"><br clear="none">Further to that I would also like the guidance around expanding legal land as that is how you add addresses to rural areas. If these are to be expanded or not?<br clear="none"><br clear="none">This is a large change to Alberta and it extends more than just a display name or expanding an abbreviation. Because that is not actually what we are doing we are changing the name. I do support no abbreviations but I would like to see the support that these are abbreviations.
