Al momento de elaboración de este informe, se contabilizaban 48 personas muertas, 27 heridas y un número aún indeterminado de desaparecidos. Se espera que la cifra de víctimas fatales aumente en las próximas horas mientras avanzan las labores de búsqueda y rescate. Los heridos están siendo trasladados a Medellín -capital del departamento.<br>La emergencia afecta el corregimiento La Margarita y dos barrios del casco urbano. Se estima que en estas zonas habitan cerca de 250 familias; aún no se conoce la afectación del total de la población de estos sectores.<br>La avalancha causó destrucción de viviendas y puentes, según información oficial de la Unidad Nacional para la Atención de Riesgo y Desastres (UNGRD). Los servicios de agua y saneamiento se encuentran suspendidos, situación que afecta a cerca de 18.000 personas. The death toll is expected to rise in the coming hours while search and rescue is carried out. The injured are being transferred to Medellín –departmental capital.<br>The emergency affects La Margarita (rural settlement) and two urban neighborhoods. It is estimated that 250 families live in these areas; their situation has not been assessed yet.<br>The landslide caused destruction of houses and bridges, according to the National Disasters Unit (UNGRD). Water and sanitation services are suspended, affecting about 18,000 people.
